Polina Sergeevna Yakovleva, a 4th-year student at Samara University’s Institute of Aerospace Engineering (IAE) took part in the 27th Conference of Young Scientists with International Participation "Navigation and Motion Control”, held in St. Petersburg on March 18-21, 2025, on the venue of JSC "Concern Central Research Institute "Electropribor".

The opening ceremony of the Conference was attended by Vladimir Grigorievich Peshekhonov (Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Scientific Director of JSC "Concern Central Research Institute "Electropribor", President of the IPA (International Public Association "Academy of Navigation and Motion Control") and Oleg Andreevich Stepanov (Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Head of the Scientific and Educational Centre of JSC "Concern Central Research Institute "Electropribor", Deputy Director of the Institute of Information and Navigation Systems at ITMO University).

After the opening ceremony, the participants had the opportunity for participating in the round table discussion on the use of artificial intelligence in scientific work, and also attended lectures on the subject, delivered by leading Russian scientists.

Ten sections were organized within the Conference. Over four days, the Conference participants made presentations, the themes of which ranged from problems of developing artificial intelligence and information processing to satellite systems and unmanned vehicles.

Polina Sergeevna presented her report "Estimation of the Solar Pressure Moment of Force for the CubeSat 6U Nanosatellite with Expandable Panels" (Scientific Supervisor: Aleksey Andreevich Kumarin, Researcher at RL-102, and Assistant at the Interuniversity Department of Space Research).

The relevance of the study was caused by the need for estimating the pressure force for different satellite positions at various orbital heights and comparing its values with the values of the most basic moments – aerodynamic and gravitational, – which affect the spacecraft.

"The Conference brought together representatives of a wide variety of scientific disciplines, which made it possible to learn something new in my scientific field, as well as to get acquainted with achievements in other fields", shares Polina Sergeevna her impressions.

Following the Conference results, Polina Sergeevna Yakovleva, a student of Samara University, received the diploma for the best student report in the Section "Integrated Inertial and Satellite Navigation Systems".
